Tests measured

This is the hormone that is tested for in urine based home pregnancy tests- Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. Also called "beta-HCG", "b-HCG", "BHCG" and "B-HCG".  A hormone that is secreted by the umbilicus of the embryo.  It stimulates the production of estrogen and progesterone.  

 

Sample and volume requirements

Fresh clean catch urine sample. Sufficient volume to perform the test- at least 1 mL.

Reference Range

Negative: < 25 IU/L bHCG.

Contamination of sample.
