
The POCT Committee
The POCT Committee had its inaugural meeting in June 2004.
This multi-disciplinary group consists of medical, laboratory, and quality, representatives.
Chair: Director of Nursing.
Secretary: POCT Coordinator.
The Committee functions:
within the constraints of the Terms of Reference.
to implement and interpret the CDHB POCT Policy in light of ISO 22870.
to monitor the direction and functionality of POCT within the CDHB.
to assist in accreditation implementation.
to monitor issues of Quality Implementation, Competency documentation, hardware improvements, e.g., barcode implementation and new equipment tenders, External Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
to work with Canterbury Health Laboratories to provide the most accurate, precise and reliable patient results from Point of Care Testing processes.
