– provides professional leadership for nurses within their particular hospital. This includes management, planning, development, ensuring the quality of nursing practice is maintained, and that staff and resources are utilised in such a way that ensures optimum patient care is delivered. Stuart Bigwood (PG Dip.HealSc. [Distinction], MHealsci) Stuart has been in this role since August 2007. He has an extensive background in community mental health nursing and previously worked at the Department of Psychological Medicine and Health Sciences, Christchurch School of Medicine, Otago University co-ordinating a Post Graduate paper (PSMX 405, Rehabilitation and Management of Mental Disorder). Stuart has a particular interest in clinical case management and recovery oriented practice. His Masters Degree explored the nurses experience of restraint. |
